WE HAVE MOVED!

This update will only be meaningful to all those of you who have been following our LONG, DRAWN-OUT en bloc saga.  Yes, our lovely home at Nim Park did go en bloc and we have had to move out.  We bought a new place in Pasir Ris but it won't be ready till early 2010.  So in the meantime, we have rented an apartment, also in Pasir Ris and 5 blocks up from our new home, and we moved in in late March. 

We are now at Jalan Loyang Besar!  If you're wondering where in the world that is, think Downtown East.  And if you are thinking ... WAH!  SO FAR!  You are absolutely right!  It is so very far from everywhere else!  But Tee Chiou (that's the husband) works at Changi Airport, so the change has been so very refreshing for us.  Think 10 mins to or from work EVEN during peak hour, as opposed to a 45-min long slow crawl on the TPE, and you can understand why we decided to move here.

ALSO (and it remains to be seen how long this will last) we have been spending mornings at the beach, having breakfast and reading the Bible.  The Pasir Ris beach is almost literally just outside our back door!

So if you ever *happen* to be in the area, give us a call and come visit us!

HOW MANY CARTONS?

Okay.  I have been asked this question so many times, I should just volunteer this very useless (but interesting) factoid here ... We moved 119 cartons of books to our new home!  If sleep is elusive tonight, imagine packing, moving and unpacking 119 cartons of books and it might just do the trick ... Works for me!  :)

THE WEIGHTY WORD BOOK

We added this book to our collection in August last year, on the recommendation of Imm Lee.  Those of you who know Imm know she has impeccable taste in books.  J  Anyway, in just a few months, it has sold so well, it is one of our all-time top selling books!  Why the special highlight?  Well, the book has just gone out of print (you can't even get it on Amazon any more).  But since our distributor had some left in stock, we bought it all up!  Kiasu Singaporean.  J
